The food and breakfast were excellent, and everything was neatly organized without feeling crowded; we also appreciated the table assignments. However, we would have liked more detailed information about hiking and biking routes in the area, not just the brochures.

The hotel is a bit far from the center, but it offers free passes for all public transport in South Tyrol during the stay. Breakfast was superb, both sweet and savory, and the reception and breakfast staff were incredibly friendly and courteous—seems like a family-run place. On the downside, there are always areas for improvement: first, the room only has two power outlets, yet my PC cable has three prongs, so I could only charge it in the bathroom where there was a three‑hole socket; second, the shower towels are fine, but if you’re no more than 1 m tall and under five years old, it’s a real hassle to grab the large ones.

Everything was great: the staff were very friendly and genuinely cared about the guests’ well‑being. Breakfast offered a wide selection, and the bread and rolls were delicious. Dinner was exceptionally good, and each day you could look forward to the kitchen’s creativity and quality. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and very clean, and the outdoor pool was well maintained with plenty of loungers, even in the shade. The proximity to the bus stop and the bus connections were also a plus, so we didn’t need a car to explore the surroundings.

We’ve stayed at Hotel Maximilian in Merano twice now and are once again absolutely thrilled. From the very first minute you feel completely at ease. The food was consistently a highlight each day, and the staff were incredibly caring and attentive, always anticipating every wish. Service and hospitality are truly heartfelt here. We’ll definitely return anytime, and a huge thank you to the whole team for a wonderful stay!
