The staff are courteous and friendly, and the staff at Horyu‑ji, full of love for Nara, are wonderful. There are no blackout curtains in the room, so the morning sun woke me up early. The fixed mirror (without a cover) in front of the bed was scary at night.

The place is quite clean and the amenities are great. The chairs in the public bath are functional, but I didn’t feel comfortable with their hygiene.

It was clean. The bathroom and toilet doors were locked, and I had to use a 10‑yen coin to open them—this was my first time seeing that, and I was surprised.

The vibe was great, and the nearby Fushimi Inari shrine was just a short walk away. The only downside was that the nearest convenience store was a bit far, and I couldn't book dinner in advance.
