“Ruhige Lage mit schönem Garten, sehr gutem Frühstück und kinderfreundlich”
The breakfast was excellent. The rooms were nicely furnished and the beds were very comfortable. Our rooms were on the top floor, but there was a fan. We found the communal kitchen very useful; it was well equipped and only one floor below. It was very convenient for our kids because there was more space. The same goes for outside activities (trampoline, table tennis). With the free ferries across the Seine you can easily explore the valley (Jumieges) or go to Barentin, where there’s a large area with many shops. The highway to Rouen isn’t far, but if you have time you should wait until later to hit the motorway and save on tolls. The roads to get there are sometimes so narrow that you have to back up to a passing lane when there’s oncoming traffic. People who want to eat alone should rent the shepherd’s cart; otherwise you’ll sit at the breakfast table with other guests. That wasn’t a problem for us, but if you’re not chatty in the morning, you might not be happy here.
