From the moment you book the friendly, chilled, welcoming vibe shows. They host great relaxed social events most mornings and nights that encourage everyone to gather in the communal space—no pressure to join, you can do your own thing while still being in the common areas. Staff are always around, approachable and helpful. The hostel dog was great company while hanging out by the pool with a book. The free shuttle bus was very convenient and used daily to catch connecting shuttles or other town activities. There’s a large, well‑equipped kitchen with plenty of storage for your own food. It was my first time using the Goki app as a room key and it worked well, so I didn’t have to worry about losing a swipe card. Free body and surfboard hire was a great option being so close to the beach. Nothing to add.

Parking was available and everyone stayed respectful and helpful, though the kitchen was busy but we all managed.

The overall experience was great thanks to the friendly staff, comfortable room, and shuttle service, but the shower and bathroom sink were not very clean.

We booked a private room for one night over the long weekend because most other places were booked out, and this place had a good rating (over 8.5). I didn’t have high expectations, as it is a hostel after all, but unfortunately the experience was far worse than I expected. The smell of mould in our room was extremely strong, and the room itself didn’t look clean either. Keep in mind that we paid around $270 for just one night. I’ve stayed in hostels around Australia before and have never had an experience this bad. The mould smell was so overwhelming that we actually went out to buy eucalyptus oil, put it on pieces of toilet paper, and spread them around the room just to make it bearable enough to sleep there. If you have allergies or are sensitive to mould, run from this place. For nearly $300 a night, even during a long weekend, the condition of the room was simply unacceptable
