Agro Village Resort , Kalpitiya

I had a wonderful stay at this resort in Kalpitiya, feeling like a home away from home. The setting is truly special, surrounded by farms and greenery in a peaceful, beautiful area, and the locals are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. The staff were absolutely fantastic—very kind, helpful, and attentive throughout my stay, especially Mr. Vohan and his team who gave great hospitality and personal attention. The food is excellent, especially the meals prepared to order, and I appreciated the flexibility with meal times. The room was very comfortable, clean, and had excellent air conditioning, and I had no issues with insects as long as the doors stayed closed. What I particularly loved was the feeling of being at home; it doesn’t feel like a typical hotel, more like staying in your own private little farm surrounded by nature. The resort can also arrange everything you may need, including bicycles, scooters, tuk‑tuks, and airport transportation. I also had a traditional Sri Lankan massage, which was excellent and very professional—a perfect way to relax and shake off fatigue after a busy period. Overall, I highly recommend this place and am sure I will visit again whenever I return to Sri Lanka. Thank you, Mr. Vohan and the entire team, for making my stay so comfortable and memorable. 🙏🇱🇰

“Perfect for kitesurfing vacations!”

We chose Agro Village for our kite‑surf vacation and stayed there for six days. The location is lovely, only 5’ from Kappalady lagoon, and the cottages offer fair‑priced rentals so you don’t have to worry about transport. The food was really tasty, with everything coming straight from nature (papayas, bananas, coconuts, eggs). The staff were kind and helpful with everything! The whole resort sits in a palm‑tree field, so you literally live in nature. Because we decided to travel on the mainland for the rest of our vacation, our hostess arranged to send our kite‑surf equipment straight to the airport on the day of our flight, letting us visit many places without carrying the board bag. We highly recommend this place if you want to feel and taste authentic Sri Lankan vibes, the kindness of the people, and enjoy kitesurfing in Kapalady lagoon. TIP! When you go to Kapallady, choose the KITE BUDDIES school instead of others because it has the best vibes all around Kappalady and offers assistance for only 1500Rs per person (pumping your kite, trimming your bar, launching‑landing your kite, rescues if you need it), plus they have a coffee shop if you want to drink espresso and have something to eat!

“Goede locatie voor kiten met zwembad”

The location is a 10‑minute bike ride from the beach and the lagoon for kitesurfing. The pool is lovely, the rooms are fine, with a spacious double bed and plenty of storage. The cold shower was also refreshing. It’s really a place to kite, and you can stay by the pool in the beautiful garden. We read reviews about a super friendly owner but we hardly saw or spoke to them, which was disappointing. The chef was present all day and helped us a lot, but limited English meant we couldn’t ask many questions or discuss. The location is a 15‑20‑minute tuk‑tuk ride to evening restaurants, and the pick‑me service didn’t always work. Dining at the location is fine so you don’t have to go elsewhere.
