The first room we checked into smelled of mold and mildew as soon as we entered; the staff moved us to another building that smelled a little better, yet we could still see mold in the bathroom and in the air‑conditioning unit, the security lock on the door was broken, and the room’s surfaces didn’t look thoroughly cleaned after the last guest.

The location was great, downtown Tavares with restaurants, coffee, and ice cream right underneath the hotel, but the hotel was dated and quite loud at night; when we arrived the room was very musty and humid, the bathroom was moldy and unkept, and there was frozen food buried in the freezer.

The area is really nice, restaurants are walking distance and very good, the staff was efficient, and overall I would have scored it higher but it failed in cleanliness; Bldg 1 is better but still needs cleaning, while Bldg 2 and 3 are even older and feel more like a motel entrance, and your entry doors are not in an enclosed hallway.
