Budget Host Inn by Hotel O Portland near I-65

I can’t fairly rate this hotel because I didn’t stay. It sits behind a parking lot, hidden by an abandoned, overgrown building. I was told there was only one room left, on the back of the building, right in the center. Neighbors sat outside the door, smoking loudly, and the vibe was unnerving—I didn’t feel safe and left. The manager was kind and understanding about my concerns.

I didn't like anything about this place. I wish I had taken pictures, I'll remember if it ever happens again. First, I'm greeted at the front desk by a middle school aged boy who begins checking me in, obviously the owner's Son. He checks and finds no rooms available except for one. He makes a call to someone named Mike asking about what rooms are available. Mike says there's only one, room 107. The boy asks him "is it a good one the customer made online reservation" and Mike says "no" and says to show me the room. So this kid takes me to show me this room and I'm thinking how dangerous it is for a young boy to be showing strangers motel rooms, but whatever. The room was a disaster that didn't even come close to reaching my lowest expectations. The room had bare concrete floors and could tell that it was once carpeted. The beds were 2 basic queen bed with sheets only, I requested a room with a king sized bed. The walls were dirty and the bathroom was stained missing floor tiles, and just plain nasty. Then I was lied to about cancelling the reservation. I was told by the boy that I could request a cancellation of the room and they would approve it and that he was sorry for not having a good room for me. So I go to cancel the reservation and they denied it and charged me for the stay. didn't help me at all with this problem and let this place steal my money. I'll never use again and will tell everyone I know about this and to spread the news that will not help you with anything and will leave you out to dry

The location is convenient for my work, but it looks like the rooms are in the middle of an update.

The broken cars in the lot, the burned‑out gas station on the way in, the stains on the mattresses—just about everything you can imagine. Driving down to the hotel felt like a scene from *The Day After Tomorrow*, and that’s not an exaggeration.
