“Unsanitary”
I got a full refund after canceling. The reality I faced was far from what the existing reviews suggested. Anggi was friendly and responsive, and the place has great potential. I stayed only one night of a seven‑night booking and would not return until the many problems are fixed. Positives: quiet spot, roomy room and bathroom, hot shower, nice porch and pool, and a sweet cat. Negatives: my unit had an active ant infestation, a dirty bathroom sink, mold on the refrigerator seal, efflorescence on the wall from dampness, and what looked like wood‑boring insect debris in the wardrobe. After insecticide treatment, a large number of ants came out from under the damp kitchen sink and into the bedroom; the host put out naphthalene mothballs (kapur barus) even though I asked not to. They were removed, but the toxic fumes lingered. I was told to keep the kitchen extractor fan on to clear the smell, but the odor stayed, as did the ants. I was offered a swap to another twin room, but it reeked of mold and was unbearable. Dark marks on the wall facing the beds appeared to have been washed, and extensive efflorescence beside one bed was worse than in my original room. When I said I couldn’t stay because of the mold, Anggi suggested sleeping in the bed furthest from the efflorescence. Photos attached are from my unit only.
