Nicolas Family Homestay - Mekong Home

Located by the Mekong, the terrace is beautiful, and there are many tips and maps for activities. Marie, the house’s daughter, is a very friendly and polite person of Lao descent, speaks English very well, and we had a pleasant, informative conversation. The dinner was good. You cannot drive a rental car to the house; the parking is over 100 meters away, over the street on a construction site. The room is not the 25 square meters advertised, and the mattress is not suitable for restful sleep.

“Un séjour qui nous a donné envie de revenir à Paksé.”

We stayed in a lovely house by the Mekong in the Bangyor area of Pakse, where the family welcomed us warmly. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Nicolas knows the region inside and out, off the beaten path, and gives great tools and advice for exploring the Bolovens. Everyone was very helpful in their own way, making our trip unforgettable – Khiao, an outstanding cook, and Marie, always ready to answer our questions. Thanks to all three for sparking our desire to return. Nothing negative.

Absolutely recommended. A lovingly furnished homestay with unbeatable care from Nicolas and his wife. The only thing to know is that you absolutely need a scooter.

It’s a homestay, so you have to be aware of family life. Everything was perfect, the Lao food was fabulous, highly recommended. You need to be motorized.

Nicolas is very welcoming, helps you discover Pakse, and gives excellent advice. His wife’s cooking is delicious. The room was very clean.
