On 9/30, after checking in, I smelled cigarette smoke in the corridor around 5‑6 pm; I called the front desk, and they said they'd investigate, later I saw an ozone deodorizer added to the hallway. That night, while refilling water, the smoke returned, mainly at the end of the corridor; I checked the room next to the end and found room 908 had a strong smoke odor, so I called the desk again. The first time the staff gave a flexible reminder, which was acceptable, but the second time they were not proactive; paying the same rate shouldn’t mean enduring second‑hand smoke, especially when the hotel clearly forbids smoking yet ignores violators. Because of their passive handling, we gave up and stayed in the room, reluctant to complain again. The next morning at 8 am, after breakfast, the smoke smelled again, forcing us to leave quickly. The hotel’s response was just an apology and a promise to improve staff training; we’d prefer them to actually review their crisis‑management process rather than offer a superficial reply.
