The decor was really lovely and very stylish, the location was excellent, and I loved the extra breakfast at the Bakewell Pudding Shop. The only problem was the Velux window in the top room was hard to reach and not safe, and the crockery should be in a lower cupboard since the chair had to be stood on to get it.

The place is in a great spot, roomy, spotless, and feels like home; we had everything we needed. The unique setting, linked to the original Bakewell shop, added to the memory, and the included breakfast was brilliant and worth it—staff were lovely, food was good, and they set us up for the day. I’ll definitely return. The parking was a problem because we had two cars; we were given a spot but it was hard to locate, and finding a reasonable alternative was tough—some guidance would have helped. The staff seemed friendly after the initial greeting, but when we arrived we were told to come back. When we did, it was three minutes too late for check‑in, and we were still told we might have to wait while they searched for keys. I understand they run a shop too, but a warm welcome, time to ask questions, and more information would be useful, especially since I’d never been to Bakewell before—knowing there’s a local friendly spot to turn to would reassure guests.
