The front‑desk lady was super helpful, the place was spotless and the shower worked great, and I never heard the bell because the windows stayed shut. The only thing missing was a shared kitchen or at least a fridge for simple meals.

The facilities themselves were fine, but the service was a nightmare. I couldn’t get into the building because they never gave me a key – I ended up finding a nun who managed to get the door opened. After finally arriving past my stated check‑in time, they forced me to wait until noon even though I was about to catch a bus, and later discovered that my bed had been assigned to another guest, leaving us both scrambling for a solution that never came.

Clean, safe and right in the middle of a historic neighbourhood – the building’s old‑world charm was a nice touch and the rooms were spotless. My roommates were considerate, even whispering lights off when one of them felt ill, and the street outside felt lively yet secure at night. The check‑in was a pain though; the entrance key doubled as the room key without any explanation, and there was no staff around to help, plus no kettle or coffee when the dining area was closed.

The building itself is gorgeous and sits in a lovely spot, but the stay felt completely virtual. Breakfast never showed up (maybe it was Sunday?), the kitchen was locked with no dishes or cutlery, so I ended up using a discarded McDonald’s cup for coffee and stirring with my glasses. There was no staff in sight at any point, so I got no welcome or service at all and wouldn’t return.

The price was the only thing that made sense – everything else was a mess. I booked a spot for me and a friend in a women‑only six‑person room, only to find my bed already taken and another guest holding the same key; the staff never answered calls or messages, leaving us stranded without a place to sleep in a foreign country. To top it off, a man showed up in our “women’s” room with a matching key, and the promised €1 coffee was nowhere to be found in the vending machine, wasting my money.
