“Disappointing Stay: Overrated Ratings and Poor Facilities”
It’s hard to pinpoint what we truly liked. The location is relatively close to a bus stop and a few shops, but otherwise it’s not very convenient for walking. The train station is about 1.6 km away and the port about 2.5 km away—quite a distance, especially with luggage. Taking the bus is recommended; a ticket costs €1.30 per ride. Those are basically the only positives we found. The room was small, and both the shower and sink had very low water pressure. There was no soap in the shower, and the cleaning was mediocre. The towels and bed linen were worn and not very clean. Getting into the accommodation was difficult because the entry codes didn’t work properly. Climbing the stairs to the 4th floor without a lift was tiring. We were not told beforehand that using the lift would cost €0.20 per trip. Although the room had a fairly modern 43‑inch Samsung TV, the cable connection didn’t work, so we could only watch Netflix. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. In our view, the 9 and 10 ratings for this place are exaggerated and don’t reflect reality. We think it deserves no more than a 6 or 7 out of 10.
