A wonderful mountain house tucked away in the nature‑rich surroundings of Sigiriya. The meals made by the host’s beautiful wife were exceptionally delicious, and the hospitality was outstanding. I’m truly grateful to her for showing me so many of Sri Lanka’s wonderful flavors. Even with a cute princess to look after, she spent so much time cooking for me, and I can’t thank her enough. I highly recommend her cooking (lunch/dinner) to anyone staying here; it offers a fantastic local culinary experience that brings out the fresh, delicious flavors of the vegetables—a taste you simply won’t find elsewhere.

We spent three nights there as a family. The hosts were very nice and helpful at all times. The food was prepared with a lot of love. There was plenty to eat and each breakfast was different. In the treehouse you could watch monkeys, peacocks and striped squirrels, and a wild elephant even came by. We borrowed bikes and could take nice short tours from there. The location is very good; about a 10‑minute walk to the main street. The accommodation is very simple but very cheap. The mattresses were sagging and the mosquito nets had a few holes—otherwise top!

A cozy spot right in the forest’s heart, utterly quiet except for birds and squirrels. The lady running the guesthouse always smiles and whips up a tasty breakfast each morning. My wooden room sits on a roomy platform with a garden view. I only wish they swapped the ceiling fans for regular ones near the beds, since the room gets hot and the ceiling traps sun‑heat. Curtains would help too, because morning sun pours straight in. The Wi‑Fi is weak and often drops out. Most of all, paying 2,500 rupees for a simple plate of rice feels unreasonable.

Chandi’s food tastes great, and she’s genuinely kind and welcoming overall.
