“Interesting place for a short stay”

The house is beautiful, filled with Bulgarian spirit and history, and every effort has been made to ensure comfort despite its status as a historical and architectural monument. There is no catering service at the house, not even for breakfast or coffee. Because the lack of eateries is a problem for the whole village, this is rather unpleasant.

I strongly recommend Popkov's house! Besides immersing ourselves in the uncompromising Bulgarian spirit, here guests feel cared for with a lot of attention and hospitality from the host. Every day of our stay there, we received help, attention, and fulfillment of every culinary wish. Thanks to the host, the place has kept its authenticity and uniqueness, providing comfort for guests' stay.

We appreciated that the house kept its authenticity. The visit felt like stepping back in time to a 150‑200 year old calendar. From the moment we arrived, we were introduced to the historical facts about Pop Sokol’s life, the house, the era, and the subsequent stages of maintenance and restoration as a cultural monument. We were delighted to be part of this place. The mattresses were comfortable, we woke up rested, and breakfast was made with homemade products. The hosts are very welcoming, smiling and responsive, and we would gladly return.

“Une parenthèse, dans l'espace et dans le temps.”

A lovely guesthouse in a traditional house. The owner couple are welcoming and do everything they can to make guests comfortable, even with a language barrier. A traditional dinner on a well‑furnished terrace. The village itself offers little interest.
