I spent a truly extraordinary time here and felt deeply relaxed. The hot springs were soothing, and the location met all my expectations—I’d love to stay again. I have no specific requests for improvement.

“Great stay with great private onsen”

Getting there by car was easy, with plenty of parking. The private onsen apartment was superb, featuring a cozy bedroom, a great living room overlooking a nice garden, and all the comforts you’d need for a laid‑back stay. Breakfast was a bit over‑serviced in terms of quantity, and dinner was decent but also slightly generous. The staff were friendly, helpful, and overall great. The thing we didn’t like was that we had to leave early. We also couldn’t find a coin laundry on site, but there’s a great one 15 minutes away, so that’s not a big deal.

“A peaceful traditional retreat in onsen country”

This ryokan is first‑rate, with traditional rooms paired with a modern common area. The breakfast and dinner were amazing—especially the dinner, which matched the quality of a typical Kyoto kaiseki. There was no Wi‑Fi in the common room, and the room’s Wi‑Fi was unreliable. The location is about 2 km from the main Kurokawa Onsen village.
