Isambane Camp

On the way to the lodge you can already go on safari and spot animals. Once you arrive, you’re fully pampered; everything is meticulously taken care of: breakfast, lunch, and dinner are excellent and the staff is truly fantastic. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and does everything possible to make your stay special. The game drives are also a great experience. The rangers have a lot of knowledge and enthusiastically talk about the animals and nature. During every ride, the ranger does his best to spot as many animals as possible. Of course, the wild animals that live freely in nature remain wild, so it isn’t always possible to see all the Big Five. But outside the Big Five there’s also a lot to discover: beautiful other animals and a huge variety of lovely birds. There’s always something special during each game drive. Because you never know what you’ll encounter, every game drive is exciting and unique. A fantastic experience that we won’t forget soon. Absolutely recommended!

“An unforgettable stay; Isambane is truly something special!”

We fell in love with Isambane, both the lodge itself and the incredible team. During our trip, we also stayed at another safari lodge recommended by the Michelin Guide, and for us, Isambane surpassed it by far. The service was exceptional. We have honestly never felt so well taken care of anywhere we’ve stayed. Every detail was thoughtful and personal, and the team went above and beyond to make our honeymoon feel extra special. Those little touches meant so much to us. The food was another highlight — the chef is incredibly talented, and every meal was excellent. We were also so lucky to have an amazing guide for our game drives. He was extremely knowledgeable, attentive to what we wanted to see and experience, and genuinely passionate about wildlife and the bush. You could tell that this wasn’t simply a job for him, and that made every game drive even more memorable. If you’re hesitating between several lodges in the area, choose Isambane. The warmth of the team, the level of service, the food, the game drives and the attention to detail made this one of the absolute highlights of our honeymoon. We would come back without hesitation.

“Incredible stay”

The camp sits in a fantastic spot with lively social areas, a beautiful and comfy tent that comes with great facilities. The staff were outstanding, especially guide Angie. The game drives were incredible and the food was good. Nothing to complain about!

“Pezzo di cuore ❤️”

Probably the best safari stay of my life. We were welcomed warmly from the start: the reception, food, facilities, and attention to detail were all flawless. The two daily safaris, about four hours each, were simply fantastic. Because it’s a private reserve, the animals are observed with great respect, without the chaos of many jeeps. Our guide immersed us fully, sharing loads of info about the animals, their habits, predators, and habitats. Sightings were never guaranteed, and that’s what makes a safari great: searching and feeling the thrill when you finally spot them. I managed to see all the Big Five—an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting an authentic safari. I left with a piece of my heart. The only small improvement would be Wi‑Fi; it didn’t always work well during our stay. We had a data SIM, so we had no issues, but better connectivity would help guests who need it, like watching a movie or browsing.

“Feels like a family you’re part of.”

Every single thing from the second Shayna picked us up from the airport and we walked through the gates for the first time has been nothing but incredible. The staff, the lodge, the food, all outstanding. I could not recommend Isambane more, I can’t sing its praises enough. Our safari guide Saneshan has been perfect and incredibly knowledgeable on everything from botany to astronomy and of course all the animals, birds and insects, he is also very kind, we were lucky enough to see the big 5 and many other animals. We were also honoured to get Angela’s last drive when we first arrived. Craig joined us for the last couple drives was also great and very knowledgeable. Every guest has been so kind. There has not been one meal that wasn’t 10/10, thank you chefs🩷 I was very sad to check out but we will definitely be back. Thank you so much to the whole team for the most incredible 5 nights of my life.🩷. Absolutely nothing
