I went to check in and the staff told me the place had stopped using Booking, so my room was gone. They offered me a shared room, but I didn’t want to split. They couldn’t find another spot, so I had to scramble and book Hostal Sucre on the spot, paying a steep rate. They promised no charge when I asked to cancel, but the whole thing was a mess.

I showed up, and the place had already given my booking to someone else. Nobody opened the door even though I was inside during opening hours. The staff never came to explain, just sent me two hostel names on WhatsApp. I ended up with a no‑show mark, but at least no charges.

The place was spotless, thanks to a daily cleaning lady. Beds were huge, though the mattress sagged in the middle. The kitchen was big and had everything you need. The downside? No front desk around the clock, so you had to text the hostel. It wasn’t a social hub for solo travelers, and the toilet next to our room was broken for the whole stay.
