I liked almost everything about this family‑run guest house, from the entrance area to the tastefully decorated hall and our room. The staff were hospitable, breakfast was abundant and tasty. It’s a short walk from the gate to Itchan‑Kala, the heart of ancient Khiva. I’d recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Khiva.

The location was perfect, close to the north and west gates of the old city, and just a two‑minute walk from a nice restaurant if you turn left from the hotel and cross the narrow pedestrian bridge. The room itself was spotless and spacious, breakfast was plentiful, and the people were very friendly. Guests can also use the kitchen, and there’s a lovely garden to relax under the fig trees. The beds are much harder than what we’re used to in Europe.
