We checked in at 5 pm and left at 10 pm, but came back at 11:30 pm and tried to sleep around 12:30 am. My wife woke up from bites, we turned on the light and saw a swarm of bugs coming down the wall. When I lifted the pillows I found a whole load of bedbugs – I have photos and videos to prove it.

The breakfast was delicious, full and homemade, and the owner – plus the staff – were incredibly friendly and gentle. My room was roomy and the spot is hard to beat. I especially liked the little garden inside and the tiny lounge/kitchen that comes with a microwave, kettle, mugs, tea, coffee and sweetener, so you can grab a drink whenever you want.

The accommodation is centrally located, cozy and welcoming inside a traditional house just two minutes from the bus terminal, five minutes from the city center and five from the seafront.

The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast room is nicely decorated with a lovely courtyard. However, the room’s cleanliness was a bit lacking – a good vacuum would have helped – and the toilet was not clean when I checked out. There was also a drain issue; it smelled like a clogged drain and the shower water didn’t drain properly.
