The location, scenery and balcony view are great, but room service isn’t offered, so it could be an issue for kids or elderly guests.

“Loved it”

Serene Woods sits deep inside coffee plantations, offering exceptional mountain views and vast coffee fields shrouded in mist—though during the monsoon it was constantly wet and rainy, with mist covering almost everything. The rooms are spacious and, depending on the selection, have nice balcony views. A geyser, kettle, and refrigerator are provided, and the TV supports internet‑based OTT apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Prime. The staff were outstanding, giving 100 % effort to keep us comfortable; a special shout‑out to Mr. Binu. Kids can play in the indoor play area. Food is good and freshly prepared, but the menu must be finalized in advance. Madikeri town is just 3 km away, yet the resort feels far from town. We missed the estate tour because it rained all the time. From the dining area we could see a mini waterfall downstream, but we couldn’t reach it due to constant rain and many leeches. Parking is available but limited, and the resort offers pick‑up and drop. The approach road is narrow, steep, and rugged in places as it passes through multiple estates. Overall, it was an exceptional, budget‑friendly resort with equally exceptional staff. However, during the monsoon there are many insects, especially spiders and leeches, which can be found in dining areas and on balcony railings; bring anti‑leech repellent if you’re visiting in the rainy season.

“Great place, well placed near the city but away from the crowd . Limited cottages, hence no hotel like feel which was go”

The location is great, with absolute peace and a superb valley view among the coffee plantation. The individual cottages offer privacy and a spacious balcony to relax, though the furnishings and cleaning could improve.
