The place looked immaculate, spotless and tidy. The staff were super friendly and welcomed us as soon as we walked in. The food was great, both the evening meal and the breakfast the next morning – couldn't find any faults. Free parking and pet‑friendly all the time! I’d highly recommend it and will definitely return.

The location was good for where we were headed. Nothing else to add.

The village in the dales was beautiful. The staff in the evenings and mornings were wonderful – they went above and beyond. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, with a great bed and pillows; feather pillows were offered if I wanted them. The restaurant meal was lovely, with a good beer selection at prices well below average. It was a lovely stay at a lovely hotel, and there was a secure parking area for motorcycles. The only downside was that the bar closed around 8 pm unless it was busy, which I didn’t mind. Breakfast was only between 7–8 am – no late options. The bed was lovely but a straight double, which was fine for a single but not for two.

After a 3.5‑hour journey, we asked for a cup of tea but were told the coffee machine wasn’t working. Breakfast ran from 0800 to 0900 on a Sunday because of the Carvery; our waitress vanished, so we ordered from another staff member. When she returned, she said it was just her, that there was only one chef, and that she had to get up at 0500 to clean toilets and all the rooms.

The room was spotless and a nice size, with a clean bathroom and great basic amenities for the price. The staff were amazing, helping us check in late and even making me a takeaway coffee. I didn’t get to try the bar or restaurant, but the staff were still friendly and helpful. The only issue was the lack of thin pillows, which is just a personal preference.
