The structure and staff were very welcoming. Free public parking was only 50 m away. The rooms were well equipped and quiet. We dined there and the menu was not only generous but refined. We recommend it.

The place was calm and accepted pets. However, the reception lacked friendliness.

The location is perfect for a stopover, the bed was comfy, and the shower was good. The constant smell of fried food is a downside; a better extractor is definitely needed.

The location is great, close to the town centre, making it easy to walk to cafés and shops, and public parking just across the street was very convenient. The hotel’s presentation is dreadful: paint peels off the walls in the corridors and in the room, plaster lumps are everywhere, old worn mats and carpets, and the bed throw and soft furnishings look decades old. The only decent area was the renovated bathroom. Breakfast was meagre, with little choice and no fruit—neither fresh nor canned. The worst part was the owner: grumpy, unfriendly, uninterested in talking to guests, and indifferent to comments, replying monosyllabically to questions like “Excuse me Monsieur, is there any fruit available for breakfast?” with “No!”. We didn’t stay the booked three nights, only the first, but paid for all three to avoid an unpleasant encounter with the owner. We then moved on to a much better option, Hotel Le Manoir de Boisvillers, where the people were lovely, the atmosphere delightful, and the room very nice. It’s a pity about Cheval Noir; a little effort would surely boost its appeal and business. I can’t recommend it in its current state. The owner’s attitude is the worst problem.
