“Lovely hotel, but staff spoke mostly russian to me, so I couldn’t fully enjoy my stay.”
I loved the hotel’s location, with its beautiful views of the mountains, sea, and beach. The grounds are lovely, the food was delicious, and the hotel is compact and well organised, so everything is within a short walk. The evening show was outstanding—one of the most impressive and professionally produced shows I’ve seen at a hotel in Türkiye. I also appreciated that the host spoke Turkish, Russian, and English, so I could follow and enjoy the whole performance. I chose this hotel for the scenery, the sea, and the food, and it delivered on all three. What disappointed me most was how strongly the hotel seemed to cater to Russian-speaking guests. Staff repeatedly addressed me in Russian, even when I spoke English or tried to use the Turkish words I had learned. I don’t speak Russian, and many staff members seemed unable to communicate in English. My husband is Turkish, and he was equally surprised to be addressed in Russian in his own country. I had looked forward to experiencing Turkish culture, hearing the language and enjoying Turkish music, but I mostly heard Russian spoken around the hotel and Russian music played. I also skipped activities such as daytime sports and aqua aerobics because I couldn’t understand the instructions. This significantly affected our stay. I also missed some of the evening entertainment, especially the discos, because at first they played only Russian-language and Soviet-era music. It wasn’t to my taste, and I left early on a couple of nights. When I mentioned this to the reception staff, they responded quickly and contacted the entertainment team. After that, the music became more varied, with songs in Russian, English, Ukrainian and Kazakh. I appreciated how promptly they addressed my feedback. While I enjoyed the hotel’s setting and food, I wouldn’t recommend it to friends who don’t speak Russian unless its approach to languages changes
