“Geheimtipp: Hotel mit gutem Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis und schönem Sandstrand in einem Ferienkomplex”
First, you have to understand the setup, which isn’t simple, and it’s still a hidden gem: the hotel sits inside the San Pietro Complex, a sort of large holiday resort. At the entrance there’s a guarded gate. The complex contains up to three small, multi‑story buildings spread across the area. Some are sold villas, some are rental or holiday apartments, and the Hotel Da Zara is part of this complex. A restaurant and a small market are right next to the hotel. The hotel has about five rooms and is a two‑story building; going up the stairs leads to the rooms, two of which are directly above the stairs, three more are beside those two after passing through a glass door, and there’s a larger communal terrace with seating where you can hang laundry. Our room, number 3, was probably the largest; none of the rooms had a balcony, only room 5 had its own access to the communal terrace, separated by a few flower pots. Breakfast is served à la carte downstairs, featuring croissants, omelettes, toast, sandwiches, orange juice, and a few other items. The staff tries as best as they can to help. The room was clean, but you must request housekeeping and new towels. We stayed in September, so on some days the hotel was only for us, while on other days other guests were present. There’s a TV and Wi‑Fi, so you can watch YouTube, etc. The beach is a few minutes away, which is totally doable; I’ve been to all‑inclusive hotels where the beach was much farther by foot. A bit more variety at breakfast might be nice. Outside the market, the restaurant, and a few beachside eateries, there aren’t many shops, and without a car or taxi it’s tough. The room could have had a seat or more storage. No major flaws.
