The location is fantastic. The room smelled musty, and there was moisture under the heater that formed a puddle.

Hotel Abberdeen sits in Brussels’ historic center, a five‑minute stroll from Grand Place and 50 m from Rue Neuve. Its compact rooms, from singles to spacious triples, feature private baths and complimentary Wi‑Fi. The property offers easy access to boutiques, cafés, and the metro, while the nearby European Parliament and train stations enhance connectivity. A charming, centrally located retreat.

What we liked most was the location, ten minutes from the main square, and the staff were very friendly. However, the room was tiny, and on two occasions the springs fell apart when we sat on the corner of the bed, so the mattress had to be repositioned and you had to be careful when moving. Also, the shower was only a foot wide and water leaked because there was no curtain or screen, flooding the whole bathroom; we had to use towels to dry. The bathroom wasn’t sealed properly, so water leaked elsewhere. We knew the hotel had no elevator, so we accepted that. We had to use a third stairwell, which was narrow and spiral; you had to be careful not to fall, especially with luggage.

The hotel is right in the city. Unfortunately, there’s no supermarket nearby and no kettle in the room.
