We loved the location of the hotel and the fact that we had a view of the Danube and easy access to the city center. My Father also once worked at the Hotel Lav (in his younger days. many years ago) so there was also a bit of nostalgia attached to our decision for booking this Hotel. While the room was quite large, it also made being able to keep it cool very difficult (according to reception staff) and meant that it was still a bit uncomfortable in 38 degree heat outside. We were also surprised to find out that the hotel restaurant was only open until 8pm and were unable to get a meal onsite after we returned for the evening

The Lav de Vukovar hotel sits conveniently close to the beautiful palace that houses the Vukovar museum and the Danube. Our room, one of the best, offered a view of the Danube. The front‑desk staff were very friendly. However, a four‑star property should have better room equipment; we stayed in a “quasi‑suite” that cost more than a standard room, yet the bedroom—separated by a large partition—had no bedside lamp, and there was no kettle or coffee machine. The breakfast was mediocre and the service was almost nonexistent; a young woman with a flat expression nodded vaguely at us in the pre‑breakfast area before returning to her phone, then loudly cleared the dishes at exactly 10:00 am to signal the end of service. I would rate this higher once the rooms are better equipped and breakfast improved. On the bright side, there were plenty of TVs: two in the breakfast room, one in the bar, and one at reception.
