Stayed during hurricane melissa. The hotel went above and beyond for us. Full buffet, entertainment and hospitality everyday. Other hotels at the same time where doing minimal service. We usually stay at the RIU, but this time we chose the Hyatt for a change of pace. It felt more personal and quieter, and the buggy ride around the resort was a hit, especially for my 87‑year‑old mom who can’t walk far. The meals were freshly cooked, though the selection could have been broader. The staff were lovely and accommodating, and we appreciated the easy walk to the Hyatt Zilara, the adult‑only sister hotel, for nighttime entertainment and other dining options. The only downside was that the hotel room bar only stocked canned beers, no spirits, and the daytime events weren’t organized as scheduled, which limited the daytime activities.
