“FUYEZ”

The spot was close to the village center, but the room was filthy—dirty sheets that hadn’t been changed, stinky, insects in the sheets, a blood‑sucking bug in the shower toilet, and sewer smells in the bathroom. The outside of the room was slick with greenish mud, and the manager seemed indifferent even after we told him our son fell outside the room. The value was terrible. It was the worst of our two‑week road trip in Laos; there’s definitely better places in Nong Khiaw.

The property sits in a very quiet area 😃, but it was far from any restaurants or transport, and there was no hot water bottle in the room or elsewhere on the premises.

The hotel is fantastic, just a 2‑minute walk from the main street, and the mountain view is stunning. The beds were super comfy, and both the room and bathroom were spacious. The staff were lovely, and we highly recommend it!

The place is beautiful, overlooking a calm river. Breakfast is very good. The downside was that we stayed for 3 nights. We had agreed with the owner to extend for 3 more nights at the same hotel, but they tried to move us to a different hotel after booking our room—this was not the deal, and we felt like we were being thrown out, so we left.
