I stayed in Maroela and loved the place—quiet, clean, and with animals. The walking trails let you find yourself again if you don’t want to see people, and the staff are super friendly and helpful when asked. However, not all trails are clearly marked, so you can get lost; I got lost on a walk but another couple found me and called someone to pick me up.

Everything was terrible: the signposts for both the outer and inner roads were confusing, we got lost on a muddy track, and the directions sent by the hotel were wrong, which led to a flat tyre after taking a detour to find the right entrance. On checkout day we spent an hour trying to leave because the front‑desk phone was dead and no one showed up to open the gate; after driving around the property and finally calling the number on the website, we managed to get someone to let us out. The whole experience was a nightmare, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all – it ruined our holiday. I’ve booked at least 60 hotels before, the lowest rating I ever gave was 7, most are 8 or higher, but this one can only get a 2.

I love the peacefulness, but it’s a bit sad that there’s no wifi now; I also loved the outdoor shower.

I spent a weekend at the charming Stone House, and the amenities were excellent—everything I needed was there. Nothing else to add.
