The staff were very friendly, and the place was beautiful and well maintained; however, it was directly on a railway line.

I stayed here for a hiking weekend. The accommodation was very clean and well kept, the room small but manageable, and a table didn’t fit but the generous outdoor area with a view of the Elbe was usable. The room was quiet, and I heard very little from the train. The toilet and shower were in a separate building, also very clean and in good condition. I had booked breakfast, which offered plenty of choices and left me well fed. I also liked being able to lock my bike in the garage. The location was convenient for me, only about 3 km from Bad Schandau station. There were a few restaurants on site or one could drive to Bad Schandau, where a shop is even open on Sundays. With my bike I was able to get around easily. Apparently there is also a ferry nearby that takes you to the other side of the Elbe (Bad Schandau). Good value for money, and I would stay there again. I had requested a late arrival beforehand, which was confirmed by the host. When I arrived on Friday evening (the train fortunately arrived on time) I was met somewhat rudely because I was so late. I’m not sure if there was a communication issue, because when I mentioned that I had specifically asked for the late arrival, the tone changed and the host seemed visibly uncomfortable. It was a shame because it made the mood a bit unpleasant for both sides, but overall everyone was nice, so I assume it was just a misunderstanding.

I was met with a very friendly reception and they were flexible with extra requests; the car can be left on site because you can use public transport right there to reach the trail start; we stayed in the apartment and everything was top‑class and very clean. Thanks for a lovely stay!
