The price was very good for the quality; it was a typical workers’ hotel but it maintained standards and cleanliness, and it worked out perfectly for us, though there was a bit of street noise from the road next to the lodge.

The room was quite roomy, with a large bathroom, and there was also a kitchenette available. On hot days it was fairly cool. Unfortunately, cleanliness was something this place had not seen in a long time—dust everywhere, furniture falling apart, old curtains with peeling fastenings, and the mattress had long ago lost its life span.

I never actually stayed the night. I was supposed to spend just one night there with my child, arrived around 19:00 and found about eight scruffy, bearded men drinking and feasting on a table right in front of the entrance. I have no problem with foreigners, but seeing those men partying with alcohol and a grill right by the windows made me feel unsafe, so I decided not to stay. To make matters worse, the owner told me the room key would be left “on the sill of a small window, outside” – a complete disaster. I can’t comment on comfort or cleanliness, but I rate safety, peace and service as decidedly negative.
