The hotel’s history and architectural style are impressive, yet the courtyard view could be better; the room window faced a wall, which was disappointing for us.

Casa Negustorului is a truly special place to stay. The gorgeous two-storey villa has a rich historical past, having once served as a protocol villa for Nicolae Ceaușescu, and the owner has beautifully preserved its historic character. There are so many fascinating details and objects to admire, along with stunning furniture that really adds to the atmosphere. Each room is unique, yet all are beautifully decorated and full of character. The garden and the villa itself are equally impressive and have the grandeur you would expect from such a historic property. Breakfast was good, with fresh, high-quality products, and both the owner and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The location is also excellent, within walking distance of Deva Fortress and the pedestrian area with restaurants. A wonderful and memorable stay. We would happily come back!
