It was a self‑catering lodge, so I can’t comment on breakfast. The location is fantastic, very quiet and peaceful. The hot tub needed a little TLC – the filter wasn’t fitted properly and the jets weren’t working at all.

Everything was well equipped and comfortable, and the welcome pack of Welshcakes and shortbread biscuits was a nice touch; the location at the top of the complex was lovely and quiet, with views over the surrounding countryside.
