The hotel’s location, right across from the police station, made it especially noisy. Breakfast barely did its job, offering only the bare minimum without any flair; it was adequate but uninteresting. Room‑service was practically nonexistent—after the first night the sheets were just folded in a rush, and the bed wasn’t truly re‑made. On the second night no one even entered the room, so no upkeep or service was provided. In the evenings the hot water was barely warm, and by the third morning there was no hot water at all. A string of neglect that is hard to accept for a hotel.

The evening reception staff were helpful, yet the daytime team seemed too busy on their phones to attend to guests. Getting past the bed to open or close curtains and reach the small balcony was difficult; even after moving past the bed the door wouldn’t open, forcing me to squeeze through a gap. The building feels old and tired, with the bathroom showing signs of cheap wood swelling and past leaks. Although there is a lift from the reception area, reaching it requires a long flight of stairs and you must ask reception to help with the stairlift. The hotel is near La Rambla but on a side street that feels unsafe, crowded with homeless people asking for money, cigarettes, and food—an area not worth paying €500 for two nights, a total waste of money.

Breakfast was great, the room was clean with a good bed, and everything was quiet. The hotel’s location made us feel unsafe, so we had to take a taxi in the evening because we were afraid to walk home.

The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were excellent—kudos to the woman who made breakfast. They also cleaned the room daily. The hotel is very central, and El Raval is an interesting place to be, but be cautious late at night. The only drawback was that there were too few coat and towel hangers; I felt the room could have had more of those.
