I had to travel for a brain operation the next day, and aside from the location, the hotel was awful: the TV aerial was ripped from the wall so it didn’t work, there were no tea or coffee facilities or toiletries as advertised, the rooms were very dirty, and after complaining to the receptionist nothing was recorded, so I received no compensation for the £150 night stay—disgraceful, and I’ve written to the watchdog.

The location is fine, but the carpets were dirty, the bed upholstery was torn, and there were bedbugs—watch out.

The place is well‑situated, the bedding was clean and the shower had hot water, but there was no tea, coffee or kettle, the first‑floor window wouldn’t lock, the door lock was unreliable so we had to prop it with a comb, the mattress was old and the springs were visible, and the shower curtain was too short so water splashed onto the floor.
