“It was good to have quality time with the family.”

My family liked the food, the wifi on day 2, the beds (daughter only) upstairs, the pool and scenery. The wifi was from day 1, the TV, play area, dogs didn’t attack the children, the beds were softer.

The staff were pleasant. The location made it easy to reach various points on the island (it was our second stay in Dominica). 1) We were 4 adults and 2 children. We were given an inflatable mattress as an extra bed. This was the first time we saw that! Even in an Airbnb, there’s usually a sofa bed or a convertible. They offered the inflatable mattress for my 4‑ and 7‑year‑old children so that they could sleep alone on the upper floor…unthinkable. So one of the adults slept on it the whole stay and the nights were not comfortable. 2) The owner has 3 free‑roaming dogs in the hotel. We didn’t know this when we booked. My mother is afraid of dogs, so we told the owner upon arrival, asking him to tie them up or keep them away. I had three bad encounters with one of the dogs that ran toward me, barked aggressively, almost leapt on me. It was exhausting having to watch the dog before every exit from the bungalow. Moreover, the “private” garden connects with the owner’s garden, so it was impossible to enjoy it without dogs and to let the children play outside. What was really annoying was that I did nothing to provoke the dog, yet the owner always blamed me…so don’t walk or run when it rains at this hotel! 3) The guardrails on the exterior staircase and terrace are not suitable for young children. No guardrail on the interior staircase. 4) Some maintenance work is needed. Many lights didn’t work, the locks on the glass doors, the window screens that need to be replaced or no longer function.

The bungalow was a good size. The owner ordered pizza for us when we arrived. The owner got our arrival date wrong and seemed to have been drinking when we arrived. There was no kettle or coffee. There was no bar service at all; the owner said to just help yourself! The breakfast was pretty poor. One of the dogs jumped the fence and tried to attack my husband. The beach is a walk on a busy road about 15 minutes away. We were not impressed!

“Séjour détente à la dominique”

The setting was calm and ideal for rest and relaxation, and the sea view offered a beautiful sunset. It would have been better if the evening restaurant had more options.
