“Very Bad Experience”
The place is in a good spot, but the photo is fake. Never hand over your phone to anyone there; they always push their property as top‑class. The reality is just rubbish.
“Very Good and Comfortable stay it was☺️”
I’m a backpacker who often heads to Bolpur–Shantiniketan, and my latest stay at The Old House left a strong impression. The staff are all elderly, and their genuine warmth and constant smiles make you feel right at home. Their sincerity, patience, and rare hospitality are hard to find these days, and as a solo traveler that connection mattered a lot. The rooms are spotless, well‑maintained, and arranged with thoughtfulness, making them highly comfortable for a relaxed stay. Cleanliness and comfort clearly topped the list of priorities, which boosted the whole experience. The staff even took the time to give me detailed guidance about local sights around Bolpur–Shantiniketan, and their local knowledge and willingness to help made exploring the area easier and more enjoyable. Another big plus is the location: it’s close to both the bus stop and the railway station, giving easy access to transport, food, and everyday necessities—extremely convenient for travelers. In short, as a backpacker I was genuinely happy with the warmth, cooperation, and wholehearted support I received here. I would definitely stay at The Old House again on future visits and would sincerely recommend it to fellow travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and real hospitality in Bolpur–Shantiniketan. Genuine warmth, sincere hospitality, and thoughtful guidance can turn a simple stay into a memorable experience, proving that human kindness matters more than luxury.
“The bad house of Bolpur.”
The hostel is filthy, overpriced, with bad w.c. and unclean bed and sheets. I paid rs. 1000.00 per night for a room with no facilities. The bed was not even equipped with a mattress. Please don’t mislead guests who book through you.
The room was super cheap and very nice, and that was it.
The owner was very kind.
