The location, facilities and quick, friendly reception staff made it perfect for stays in Cologne. The Nespresso machine was broken and only discovered in the morning; otherwise any issues were fixed right away.

The hotel is modern, has a small but adequate gym with a nice view, the rooms are a good size, the bed is comfortable, and there’s a kettle plus a good selection of coffees (including decaf) and teas. It’s easy to reach by public transport, though a bit out of the way. I’m not entirely sure what the “Plus” in BW Plus Hotel stands for. Check‑in and check‑out are done entirely via terminal (no criticism, that’s fine). Staff are available if there’s an issue, but we didn’t actually interact with any of them (we also didn’t have breakfast).

The hotel was very nice and the room was clean; everyone was very friendly and the location was also great. The parking situation was a let‑down: €25 per day and you have to pay a lot more for other stuff, which I found very disappointing.

Everything was clean and stylish. At the entrance there were self‑check‑in kiosks like at McDonald’s; in a hotel of this price range you’d expect a reception desk.
