Mill River Resort

We cycled around PEI and stayed at Mill River, which turned out to be a solid choice. The team there were great, and they even set up a locked area for our bikes. From the rooms we could see the golf course, which looked nice, and the rooms themselves were spacious and comfy. The only downside was the live music at the restaurant that night; the volume was a little too loud for my taste, but the food was tasty and reasonably priced.

The staff were welcoming and the hotel looked beautiful and well kept. We were thrilled to discover that many activities—golf, volleyball, tennis, and a large indoor pool with a waterslide—were free, and even as adults we had a blast on the slide. The on‑site restaurant made breakfast, lunch, and dinner convenient, especially since nearby spots close early and we like to dine late. After a full day of exploring, we could return and eat without rushing. Overall the place was spotless, the facilities excellent, and we truly enjoyed our short getaway. We would definitely recommend it. The only improvement would be better bathroom ventilation; after a shower the room stayed humid, so we had to toggle the heat and AC to keep comfortable. Also, a small coffee‑and‑pastry option in the morning would be a nice touch—most of the breakfast was full meals like eggs, bacon, pancakes, or omelettes, and a latte or cappuccino with a croissant would round out the experience.

Food, friendliness, and active amenities were all great, but the drive to Charlottetown was long.
