Located in the picturesque village of Arkendale, North Yorkshire, Blue Bell Country Inn features a restaurant, free WiFi, free parking, and a bar with an outside terrace. Each room has a TV, iPod dock, and tea/coffee facilities. The property is a 26-minute drive from Fountains Abbey and 10 miles from Ripon, with Harrogate and Mother Shipman's Cave nearby.

The staff were very attentive, the rooms comfortable, and the food delicious, giving the place a great village feel. However, the bathroom in room 1 needs attention, with significant mould in the shower.

The staff were great, our room was tastefully decorated—loved the Alison Friend artwork—and the public areas had a welcoming atmosphere; we enjoyed our cooked breakfast.

The inn is beautiful with a lovely big room, and we had a great meal in the bar and a wonderful breakfast. Every staff member we met from check‑in to bar and waiting staff were fabulous, but at breakfast in the very quiet bar a new manager came in and held a meeting with the breakfast host, dropping f‑bombs and discussing staff rota issues, which was unprofessional and not what guests should hear.
