Hostel Kronotop in Triglav National Park

The rooms and beds were cozy for a hostel and the sheets and blankets were clean. Parking was available. The location was convenient for our destination, the top of Mangart, and the valley setting looked good both inside and out. It was next to the road, but it wasn’t busy. There was no welcome at arrival, and dirty sheets were left on the stairs. No one came to prepare breakfast in the morning, so we had to make do with the few items still good in the fridge, which included slices of watermelon that had gone bad and other improperly stored products. Moldy bread loaves were left in the basket. Breakfast consisted of milk with Cornflakes, some eggs with cheese, and coffee, nothing more. We would have bought breakfast supplies if we had been warned.

The location is unbeatable, and for the price it’s worth it. The breakfast could have been a bit more varied.

We arrived at the accommodation and were given a room we hadn’t booked, but the lady was very helpful and gave us a different room :)

The surroundings are very peaceful with the church bell ringing at 7am, and the mountain air is fresh. The beds were very comfortable and clean, and the staff were welcoming and available. The shower was more or less in good condition, but the drainage was lacking.

There was a kitchen available. The hotel was not marked at all, the equipment and facilities were very old, the Wi‑Fi was not strong enough even in the first‑floor room, the breakfast was terrible, and the bathroom cleanliness was poor.
