Located at the foot of Braunfels Castle, the Schlosshotel Braunfels & Himmelreich offers a fairytale setting amidst the Hoch-Taunus nature park's scenic beauty. The hotel features cosy rooms with warm colours and antique lighting, while the historic castle is just a 3-minute walk away. Spa gardens and shaded parking are also conveniently located. Frankfurt is within a 1-hour drive.

The breakfast was great and the hotel’s location is convenient, close to restaurants and the castle. Unfortunately, there’s no restaurant inside the hotel, and the single room’s bed was a little narrow.

Good location, but the reception felt a bit cold, there’s no elevator, and there are hardly any places to store clothes.

It’s pretty close to the castle, and we got a room with a view of it. The wellness area is fantastic, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The hotel sits in a very central spot, close to the town center and Braunfels Castle, and right next to the Herrengarten. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast room is open to guests in the evenings and you can buy drinks there. The dog fee is 20 €, which feels too high, and dogs aren’t allowed in the breakfast room. The wardrobe inside was very dusty.

The restaurant was shut on Monday—bad luck. I also didn’t like that, even though I’d already paid for the booking, they asked for a €25 deposit at check‑in for the key and minibar. There’s no minibar in the annex, just a room—nothing at all, not very guest‑friendly.
