“Just OK”
The spot was spot on, just a block from the FDR Presidential Library and Museum, Eleanor Roosevelt's house, and the Vanderbilt Mansion—our main reasons for choosing the area. Breakfast was solid, and finding the hotel was a breeze with a pleasant drive. This was our second time here. The only downside was the toilet, which felt low and uncomfortable for my husband, who is average size; he ended up using the lobby toilet for relief. The refrigerator’s freezer was only half the usual size, so we had to ask the front desk clerk to stash our third ice pack in theirs. Most freezers can hold three small packs easily. In the middle of the night, when we needed the bathroom, we spotted a few tiny ants—just a handful but noticeable. Unlike other Hampton Inns, there was no bowl of fresh fruit in the dining area; plenty of coffee but no fruit. The bathroom also lacked an exhaust vent.
