We couldn't use the first room because the beds were too low, so they immediately assigned us another room. The only issue was that the shower didn't work properly—it was too hot and had no temperature adjustment, so we had to use the bath shower instead.
“We stayed to visit our daughter at the uni. Fabulous location and quick response to questions. Each room designed to a d”
The location is great and I love the quirky rooms, but the breakfast was a bit disappointing.
“Don’t stay here. It’s awful”
This hotel was like something in the twilight zone. There was so much wrong I don’t know where to begin. The first room was very crowded with 3 little single beds. We had asked for King size. The towels were VERY old beach towels. There was no soap, shampoo not crème rinse in the shower. I could not grip the shower handles to turn the water off. There were lamps but no sockets to plug them in. The breakfast sometimes had plates and cutlery but sometimes didn’t. The second room we were changed to only had hot water in the taps. The staff ( one person, tried hard but did not speak English and could not help us. The hotel guest book was filled with of bad reviews. The hotel had trip advisor and Bookings awards but the last one was in 2020. They must have changed ownership somewhere along the way. There were no top sheets. Just awful old duvet covers. Old bullies. Tiny bed tables a horrible sofa bed in our second room that slanted down on one side. No outlet in the bathroom. See above
The concept of the place is solid, but it seems like it hasn't received much attention lately. The initial impression was decent, yet upon closer inspection the room looked quite dirty, with cups and glasses that were unclean, and the entire area seemed to need a thorough cleaning. The bed creaked loudly whenever we sat on it, and the street traffic noise was very loud. We decided we didn't want to stay and left after two hours. The walls are covered with posters boasting good ratings from 2016/2017, yet the place feels unchanged since then. We handed the keys to a staff member who couldn't speak English, so I had to use Google Translate to tell him we were leaving. It's a shame; with some care, new beds, and attention, it could be great. Unfortunately, we had already paid before arrival, so we lost our money.
“OK but not as good as it looks on Booking.com site.”
The Paris room was spacious and clean, but the breakfast was underwhelming. The neighborhood felt a bit downbeat. On arrival I had to knock on the door to get admitted, and a scruffy man with poor English handed me the key. I didn't see any other staff during my two-night stay. The same points apply to the negative aspects.
