The breakfast was great and the beds were wonderful. I forgot my bracelet and after speaking with the lady she kindly rode her bike to Hollum to send it back by registered mail – absolutely top! The downside was the shared bathroom and toilets, especially when guests don’t respect others, which happened to us.

Close to the camp farm where my child stayed during the camp. The beds were tasty and the breakfast was delicious.

De bedden lagen heerlijk! Echt prima geslapen. De eigenaresse was erg vriendelijk. We vonden het een nadeel dat we op zolder zaten en de douche en toilet met 6 anderen van 3 andere kamers op een verdieping lager moesten delen. Op zich niet erg, maar de wc zat bij de douche in, dus vloer steeds nat en veel wachten. Er was geen wasbak of water op onze kamer, dus we waren wel afhankelijk van de gedeelde douche. Het ontbijt kon niet eerder dan 8.30, maar uitchecken was om 9 uur. Voor iets later moesten we bijbetalen. Al met al prima dagen gehad, maar de prijs/kwaliteit vonden we slecht. Voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn of vaak naar de WC moeten: afrader!

Ameland is really fun. A great spot for a week’s entertainment. The island has nice villages and plenty of good cafés to eat in. Cycling is the main way around, with many beautiful paths everywhere so you can reach your destination quickly. The beaches are wide and especially on the east side very quiet. It’s lovely to spend time by the sea. From pier 17 to pier 25 (the end of the island), you can take a dip in the sea. We walked in our bathing suit all the way to the end point. Only birds, sand and waves remain. STELLAR! The island is small, so after a week you’ve seen it all. There’s hardly any entertainment for dark (rainy) days.
