I arrived the first night at 23:30, and the gate was locked — something that was never mentioned during check‑in. I had to ring the bell for about 10 minutes until someone finally opened. The staff’s explanation: “We thought you were already in your room.” Bed: When I got to my room and opened the bed, there was a huge stain on the bedsheet. I ended up sleeping on top of the bedcover with just a thin blanket. There were no spare blankets in the room, so I had to sleep in long pants, a sweater, and even used a bathroom towel to stay warm. It gets quite cold at night in Nuwara Eliya, and the room walls were basically uninsulated — just aluminum and glass. Bathroom: The sink was clogged and full of water the first night. When I reported it, they told me, “You need to push the bottom to open it.” (Something that wasn’t mentioned during check‑in either.) Shower: The first night, I had to wait 5 minutes for hot water to start. The second day, after waiting over 10 minutes, there was still no hot water. I called one of the workers, but he couldn’t fix it. I had to shower with cold water, and only afterward was it repaired. Payment: They claim to accept card payments, but the card machine was “not working” that day. I had to pay in cash using 5,000‑rupee notes, and they didn’t have change. I ended up leaving about 150 rupees extra just to avoid another argument. Overall, a terrible experience — I strongly recommend finding another place
