We stayed here for two nights and found the lodge lovely—clean and tidy, with a ready‑to‑use jacuzzi that was also clean. The area was nice, and Wi‑Fi worked fine. We really enjoyed our stay, even though the double bed was uncomfortable, the sofas weren’t very comfy, and there was a constant tap‑tap‑tap noise in the double room that drove me crazy.

The lodge was nice, modern, and larger than expected, and the hot tub was big and nice. We checked in an hour early, which was great for four adults and a three‑year‑old. When we arrived, the decking was dirty and full of cobwebs. All the tables and chairs were stacked in different places, not inviting at all. The stream was overgrown and littered with paper, and there was no brush or cleaning facilities to tidy up after we left—four bowls were left, but we had five people and no large salad bowl or enough utensils. The sofa bed had no covers and was not comfortable for adults; my son left early because he couldn’t sleep on it. The bedding was stripped, the quilt had holes, the mattresses were awful, and the bed was very uncomfortable. These basic issues let the stay down.

After reading other reviews, I was wondering what I would see on arrival, but it was a lot better than expectations, even though a little bit tired , it was an easy place to find off the A1, Checked in at 3pm, everything was clean on the inside, Hot tub clean and ready to use, I was surprised by the two bathrooms, one with walk in shower, the other bath with over shower, dishwasher and washer dryer was fully working and a bonus, we took our own airfryer, so didn`t use the oven.wifi was consistent, code is on the box near the TV, the pull out sofas in the lounge needed a bit of TLC. but other wise acceptable to sit and watch tv. A peaceful place on the camp, to say it was just of the A1 you couldn`t hear the traffic, just birds tweeting and the morning heron visit, lots of outdoor seating, cushions stored in an open box near hot tub, watch out for a maintenance man arrive everyday at 10.30 to clean the hot tub,, arrives unannounced but never talks to you. pull out sofas were tired and needed repair, not all the light bulbs in and around the lodge worked, and lots of cobwebs outside need just a clean, could have done with a coffee table in the lounge area, and less chlorine in the hot tub, had to leave cover off for 2 hours for it to evaporate everyday after the maintenance man had been and topped it up

The lodge is beautiful, well maintained, and in a perfect spot; the hot‑tub and patio are extremely private with views over the stream and woods, and there’s plenty of outdoor furniture. Fluffy towels are supplied. There’s plenty of space and it’s well equipped—American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer‑dryer, etc.—and it’s extremely clean. The welcome pack was excellent—crisps and Prosecco—plus useful supplies like coffee, tea, sugar, milk, toiletries, and cleaning goods (cloths, dishwasher tabs, etc.). However, there were no cushions for the outdoor furniture, we couldn’t access the storage cabinet because it was locked, the washer‑dryer didn’t work, there was no grill pan, the toilet seats were ill‑fitted and shifted a lot when sat on, there were no large bowls in the kitchen for salads, some spotlights outside weren’t working, and the curtains in the living/dining room were all hanging off—despite the lodge being beautiful, the curtains really let it down.
