Located in the heart of Victoria, across from the Inner Harbour, The Inn at the Union Club of British Columbia features old Victorian décor, an on-site bar/lounge, and a billiards room. Charming rooms boast antique-styled furnishings, flat-screen cable TVs, and select rooms offer seating areas. The hotel is within walking distance to the Royal BC Museum and the Victoria Clipper ferry terminal.

Breakfast was excellent and the price was reasonable, service was great, but early in the morning it was a bit noisy outside when a woman screamed.

The location was great, the building was lovely with well‑chosen paintings and a very comfortable reading room, staff were helpful and attentive, there was a billiards room, and the dining room was lovely; however, the breakfast menu lacked flexibility and healthy options were limited, most items were substantial but perhaps that’s the Canadian style.

The staff, facilities, dress code, breakfast, location, security, sea air, and the fact that there was no air conditioning were all good.

The location is really great. The room itself is lower‑mid‑range: the mattress is worn out, the windows leak, and the carpet has a strong unpleasant odor. You’re really only paying for the location.
