Beautiful authentic building in a very central location right in the medina. Huge room with a large bed – that was nice. Slept well. Stunning woodwork throughout the hotel. Atmosphere of 1000 and 1 night. Beautiful view at breakfast on the rooftop terrace. The room is dark because of stained‑glass windows. The bathroom continuously smells damp. The air‑conditioner, chairs, and bathroom need repair or replacement. At breakfast, extras like eggs, coffee, and tea are not offered; you have to ask for them. Breakfast is outside on the rooftop terrace and isn’t covered. Birds constantly loiter and peck at the food. In the first communication message, they said they would provide an airport transfer for $20. When we said we wanted to use it, the price was $35 due to higher fuel costs. I took a taxi at the airport; it just asked for the $20.

Lots of character, spacious rooms, great location in Stonetown. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Loved it. If you have trouble with stairs, note there’s no elevator, and breakfast is on the roof.

“1 Tag Stone Town”

The room was really spacious and had a nice, distinctive charm thanks to the African décor. The air‑conditioning worked great, which was a relief given the heat. All the staff were friendly and helpful, so I felt very comfortable overall. The only downside was that the breakfast selection was very simple.

The hotel was beautiful, full of character, charm, and unique style. The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was good, with fresh items. It sits right in the city centre, close to everything.
